Brian Batista is a private and commercial photographer, computer nerd, animal lover, live music addict & taco aficionado based in Birmingham, Alabama. After a 24 year career in Information Technology, Brian chose to follow his true passion of creating beautiful images of the personalities that no human should be without, our four-legged friends.
Beginning his professional photography career in 2010 Brian went on to found the Tattoos & Rescues project seeking to combat stereotypes of breeds such as the American Pitbull Terrier, et al. "I noticed a kinship of the APBT and some of their owners who were heavily tattooed. At the time society was coming around on visible tattoos but these dogs still got a bad rep simply because of how they looked which is very unfair." Tattoos & Rescues has been featured on CNN, The Huffington Post, Animal Planet, PetaPixel just to name a few.
"Dogs are so intertwined in our lives that I think dog sports was a natural progression in this creative trajectory I have been on. I don't know a single person that can ignore the sheer expression of joy on a dog's face when doing activities they love with their person by their side. Whether it be dock diving, lure coursing, flyball or agility you cannot help but smile when watching these dogs. I light up when I get the chance to talk about it with anyone who will listen."
